Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Clinical Psychologist to be a part of a supportive and innovative child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in Portsmouth.

The post holder will be part of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team offering assessment and psychological interventions for children and their families, provide training and consultation to other professionals and provide leadership, supervision and clinical expertise to other members of the team. Portsmouth CAMHS has a new leadership team, including a Principal Clinical Psychologist, dedicated to improving the service we offer children and young people. As part of our commitment to the CAMHS transformation plans there will be opportunities within the timeframe for service development, leadership and supervision opportunities as well as, to facilitate psychological thinking and formulation of complex cases within the MDT. Part of the job plan will include participating in generic CAMHS work, including participating in the duty rota and initial assessments for the service.

The successful candidate would be professionally registered and be supported to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision. The post holder will receive regular supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the team. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services. We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families.

This post is suitable for:

Experienced Clinical Psychologists who will be appointed to an 8a position.

Newly qualified Clinical Psychologist who will take on responsibilities based on ability and experience and be appointed to a band 7 position. A preceptorship plan will be put in place to support the post holder working toward band 8a
