Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Neuro Rehabilitation Gym within Solent Neuro Rehabilitation Services in the Southampton City and surrounding Hampshire region. The successful post holder will provide clinical support, providing planned rehabilitation for patients supporting them in both the gym and community setting. This will include carrying out group sessions, one to one rehab sessions and ordering of equipment. The individual will also support the team with administrative tasks as needed. There will be elements of community working with this post and so access to a car for community visits is essential.
Service Summary
The Neuro Rehabilitation Gym is located within Adelaide Health Centre and provides out-patient physiotherapy to adults with a range of neurological conditions. We are a friendly and supportive team and you will be supported by your Team Leader, Senior Clinicians and Service Leads. You will be working in the Neuro Rehab Gym as part of the wider Solent Neuro Rehab Services and will have links to Rehabilitation Assistants working in the other neurological rehab teams.
Main duties of the job
*To support the Neuro Rehabilitation Gym team of Physiotherapists, working in collaboration with other relevant services/agencies as needed.
*To provide planned rehabilitation care for clients who require support and intervention in the community and outpatient clinic setting under guidance of qualified therapy staff.
*To support the efficient running of group therapy sessions alongside qualified therapists.
*To undertake routine admin and housekeeping tasks to support the running of the team.
About us
We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
