Job summary
Treetops Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) provides support, advice and forensic medical examination services for people who have experienced rape or sexual assault throughout Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The service is based in Cosham, Portsmouth, it is 24/7 service operating 365 days a year.
Treetops is delighted to be recruiting for a Service Development Officer. This is a new role and is an exciting opportunity to support the development and promotion of Treetops services. You will primarily work out in the community with a range of groups and stakeholders, promoting and educating on the work of the SARC. This will be through attending events, forums, community groups and a host of meetings. You will also be a Crisis Worker and be part of a small supportive team of forensic physicians and crisis workers providing crisis support to victims of rape and sexual assault.
Please note that this post requires regular travelling across Hampshire and Isle of Wight and you will need be able to travel with access to a car.
Main duties of the job
As the Service Development Officer, your primary focus will be working in the community building relationships with a range of community groups, forums and professionals to promote the Treetops service and increase engagement from underrepresented groups. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support the development of the Treetops communication strategy, with a focus on marketing, branding and campaigns.
You will be self-motivated and able to take a flexible and creative approach to your work. As a great communicator you will be able to engage with a range of community groups and stakeholders, delivering talks, attending events and a host of meetings.
You will be part of the Crisis Worker team providing crisis support to victims of rape and sexual assault. You will have an understanding of rape and sexual assault and the impact of trauma. You will receive a comprehensive Crisis Worker training package.
