We are looking for people who are interested becoming a Podiatry Associate Practitioner to train with us as an apprentice.

This role is a 2 year course where you will complete the Assistant Practitioner (Health Apprenticeship) learning with Solent University. Work based learning will be completed with our Podiatry Team embedding and using the skills you learn during the apprenticeship.

To be considered for interview, you will need:

*Passion for podiatry and learning

*GSCE at grade C/4 or above in Maths and English. Functional skills level 2 Maths and English will be considered.

*Evidence of Level 3: e.g., health and social care/senior health care worker apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, A Level, T-Level

*Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check

You will be joining our West locality including Southampton and West Hampshire. During your role you will have your own foot care clinics in both domiciliary and community clinic setting, you will also support our specialist services, including Nail surgery, 'At risk foot' community clinics and biomechanics.

Main duties of the job

*To deliver an effective and competent level of clinical care under the guidance and supervision of clinical podiatrists, including the use of scalpel after appropriate training.

*To monitor patients' foot and general health and report your findings to the podiatrist to ensure appropriate care pathways are used.

*To support podiatry team in ensuring the day to day running of the service is efficient and smooth i.e., stock control and equipment maintenance.

*To manage your own clinical caseload, providing treatment for patients referred by a podiatrist.

*To provide appropriate education to patients and carers to assist with the delivery of their treatment program and to empower the patient to participate in their self-care.

*Support and provide assistance in all clinics as needed, including taking basic patient observations.

*Follow care plans for patient treatment as agreed with podiatrist.

*Domiciliary visits to provide care in patients homes where they are not able to attend a clinical site
