An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join Portsmouth Rehabilitation and Reablement Team (PRRT). We are a vibrant, welcoming team with patient care at our core
You will work as part of an integrated health and social care team to provide a holistic assessment of patients' immediate and longer term needs as well as physiotherapy intervention to enable rehabilitation and reablement goals to be achieved.
As a service we are innovative, forward thinking and encourage staff engagement. You will have the opportunity to be involved in service / quality improvement and develop leadership skills as well as supervising rotational Physiotherapist, Therapy assistants and engage in student placement education.
Clinical support and supervision will be provided by a Band 7 Physiotherapist as well as being supported by a large friendly department who continually strive for service improvement & the best possible outcomes for patients.
Main duties of the job
*The postholder will work as a band 6 registered professional managing a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions. They will formulate and deliver a generic and specialised treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment and reasoning skills
*To meet the needs of patients and their families to achieve improved health outcomes and promote health and wellbeing while demonstrating care, compassion, competence, communication, courage, and commitment. Care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity and is patient/client centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based and which promotes independence.
*Responsible for co-ordinating the work of the team, influencing clinical decisions and monitoring the quality of patient care provided through utilising and maintaining expert clinical knowledge relevant to own field of practice, underpinned by theory and expertise.
To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service working without direct supervision.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
Participate in CPD and other departmental activities.
Supervise assistants / technicians and students.
Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams' practice within the department.
Commitment to out of hours sessions, a seven-day working rota and shift patterns between 08:00 and 20:00 as required.
