An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Trust's vision in creating a Power BI First, self-serve approach to accessing data and information.
We are looking for high quality candidates with experience of working with Power BI, and knowledge of cloud-based azure warehousing. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, proactive and passionate about utilising visualisation tools as a way of communicating information to non-information colleagues within the organisation.
An enthusiastic team player, you will act as the key link between the Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence teams, and leading the development of our Power BI Self Service solution. This role will require you to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Trust and excellent communication skills will be essential.
A mixture of technical, analytical and organisational skills with a passion for developing innovative solutions are key to delivering the objectives of this role.
Main duties of the job
The BI Engineer is responsible for the flow of data between the data warehouse and the output for information and visuals.
This role is responsible for supporting the trust's vision in creating a Power BI First, self-serve approach to accessing data and information. The role is a hybrid role between the data warehouse team and solutions development team, the split will be dependent on the workload at the time.
The Business Intelligence team are responsible for the end-to-end flow of data, from ingestion, manipulation, interrogation and distribution. They work with industry best practices and are constantly evolving as technology and tools evolve. The trust work on a Microsoft platform however all solutions are investigated and reviewed to deliver a product which is best for both trust and customer.
The BI Engineer will be expected to line manage BI team colleagues within their line of responsibilities as and when the time arises.
