Job summary
Southampton CAMHS are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse or AHP to work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team which delivers high quality interventions to children, young people and their families presenting with a range of mental health difficulties, with dedicated time for working in our eating disorder service.
The successful applicant will be working alongside the lead Consultant Psychiatrist, nurses, therapists, and support workers to deliver bespoke care packages according to need. This will include a combination of clinic work and home visiting as well as building strong relationships with local tier 4 providers to ensure consistency of care for those young people requiring periods of hospital admission.
The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision. Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist assessment and treatment through a clinic and community-based care approach with young people with an eating disorder.
The post holder will ensure both the physical and psychological well-being of the service users are maintained through a range of physical health interventions.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
*To care co-ordinate and manage a defined caseload of children and young people and their families and carers.
*To co-ordinate and deliver individualised care packages / programmes for service users and their families and evaluate these programmes, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines and trust policy.
*To develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users and their families/carers.
*To liaise with the young person's professional network, keeping them informed of developments, changes in risk status and promoting multi agency collaboration. Liaison with Children's Specialist Services, Educational services, independent sector mental health providers, counsellors and any other professionals.
*To involve the young person, and where appropriate, their families/carers in delivering programmes of care.
