Job summary
Due to service expansion, our award winning Occupational Health & Wellbeing department is looking for Occupational Health Advisors; applications are invited from those who have some OH experience but no OH qualification; those with limited experience but hold an OH qualification and those who have no OH experience but have transferable skills. We will work with you to develop your career within the field of Occupational Health.
Making the first step into OH can be challenging, at Solent we are breaking down those barriers, this is an ideal post for a registered nurse where you'll be supported by a large team of OH and other healthcare specialties.
OH is a unique field to work in, we provide support and advice to staff, managers, and external organisations; our Advisor roles are a combination of case management, fitness for work assessments, vaccinations & phlebotomy, support and advice to staff who have been exposed to blood or bodily fluids in their work. Your compassion, prioritisation, and clinical assessment skills will be invaluable when you are allocated to the nurse duty line where you will be able help colleagues with their queries and signpost them to the most appropriate clinicians or pathway; no two days are the same.

Main duties of the job
This role allows you to work both from home and on site, week days only, 0800-1700. The post will be fully inducted, with learning opportunities, support from experienced OH colleagues, monthly clinical supervision and supportive 1-1 conversations that focus on you and what you need to thrive in this role. All training including the opportunity to gain OH qualifications in the future will be supported and provided. The culture of the team is fully supportive.
We are led by a passionate team comprising an OH Clinician, Governance lead and an Operational and Business manager, which sets us apart from other OH and Wellbeing departments. We are and remain unique as a service and an employer; our effective and collaborative multidisciplinary team (MDT) consists of OHAs, Physicians, Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates, Physiotherapists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Wellbeing Practitioners, all skilfully supported by a cohesive Business Administration team who all put our service users at the centre of all that we do.
Our remarkable MDT working ethos allows us to learn from each other and gives those using our service the best possible outcome. We care passionately about providing excellent support; we know if we look after our colleagues this will positively impact on their personal life and the care they provide to patients.
