Job summary

The Children's Therapy service in the North of Hampshire is based over two sites, Aldershot Centre for Health and Adelphi House in Basingstoke. You will have the opportunity to work with children aged 0-19, some of whom have complex communication needs. The service is delivered within clinics, homes, nurseries, mainstream and special schools.
This post would suit Children's Speech and Language Therapists with 2-3 years' experience who is looking to develop further skills, knowledge and an agreed area of clinical specialism. The role would also be appropriate for a Speech and Language Therapist currently working as a band 6. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their clinical knowledge and leadership skills. Flexible working hours can be considered.
It is anticipated that interviews will take place in the week of 13th September.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a specialist Speech & Language Therapy Service to children and young people on the caseload some of whom may have complex needs.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner, in collaboration with health, education staff, children/young people and their parents, to deliver integrated specialised packages of care to children with complex speech, language and communication difficulties.
- To provide support and mentoring to less experience colleagues.
- To train students, other healthcare professionals and staff from other agencies who work with children with speech and language difficulties.
