Job summary

We are looking for experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Podiatrist to join our B8 Specialist Musculoskeletal Lower Limb team.

We are looking for candidates who have MSK Podiatric clinical experience, evidence of relevant post graduate continued professional development, and have a professional registration with HCPC.

Specialist MSK sits within the Primary care service line which consists of MPP Service MSK (Musculoskeletal), Podiatry and Pain services for Portsmouth, Southampton, South East Hants and Fareham and Gosport. The MSK service provides physiotherapy and specialist physiotherapy/podiatry services across these areas in the community.

Main duties of the job

Ensure the appropriate use of the pathway by all referrers.

To liaise with secondary care specialities to develop the strategic and operational management of the Lower Limb pathway.

To be able to prioritise clinical work, monitor and prioritise the referrals to manage the waiting list and balance other patient related and professional activities in accordance with the departmental requirements.

To be able to manage stressful, upsetting or emotional situations in an empathic manner, in particular patients diagnosed with chronic Lower Limb pain and supporting more junior staff in similar circumstances

To lead a rolling foot and ankle training programme for junior and new members of staff.

To maintain and provide accurate and timely statistical information as required. Use audit to identify the developing needs of the service.
