Job summary

Clinically we are looking for specialist podiatrists with the ability to demonstrate a high level of expertise and knowledge in at least one of the following areas : At Risk foot, MSK & Nail surgery. Your role will involve provision of expert specialist assessment, treatment and advice for patients with foot disease affecting the foot and ankle who may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations. You will preferably have up-to-date IRMER training with knowledge of infection management, offloading and indications for further tests and investigations. You should have a proven track record of clinical experience and CPD in these areas.
Main duties of the job
*Working with patients with diabetic, rheumatoid, vascular foot disease or complex pain (both acute and chronic) commonly at the acute stage on a daily basis to maximise improvement through high levels of technical skill and behaviour change management.
*Undertake a range of wound assessment, complex MSK assessments and management including debridement, casting techniques, advanced and innovative wound care practice, x-ray and prescribing/influencing medication relating to disease control (i.e. Diabetes, Rheumatoid disease) , antibiotic therapy, orthotic management, advanced and innovative diagnostic practice, x-ray and influencing medication relating to pain management
*Working with teams and individuals to influence the type and quality of care provided across the risk foot and MSK pathway
*Work alongside and receive referrals from other health professionals to agree care plans to prevent/manage podiatric conditions.
