The aim of our service is to support a child/young person in continuing with their mental health recovery at home with their families in the community and prevent a hospital admission due to the mental health crisis.

The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services.

We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families. If this is you, get in touch today!

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team delivering short term specialist mental health support for children and young people and their parents/carers to manage a period of mental health crisis.

The successful candidate would be professionally registered and be supported to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Duties include -

  • To offer a mental health perspective to the multi-agency team through assessment, therapeutic work, joint work and participation in team meetings. In particular to children and young people presenting in mental health crisis and requiring a higher intensity care package.
  • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team to maintain a caseload and provide direct clinical work that demonstrates a high level of specialist skill in treating the client's system, where families have severe, multi-complex and often long-standing difficulties. All children are seen in the context of their family.
  • To offer assessments as part of the self-harm rota. To contribute to core CAMHS duties such as duty and providing initial assessments.
