Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner/CAMHS Nurse to join our Crisis Team. The team is part of a supportive and innovative child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in Southampton.
The post holder will be part of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team delivering short term specialist mental health crisis support for children and young people and their parents/carers to manage a period of mental health crisis.
You will be working alongside an established CAMHS team at an important time in our development. It really is an exciting time to be joining Southampton CAMHS as we push forward with implementing new ways of working in order to best meet the needs of the population we work with. We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner/CAMHS Nurse who can lead by example and truly engage with service users, colleagues, and stakeholders.
The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children's mental health services. We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be professionally registered and be supported to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. We are looking for a professional with significant experience of working with children, young people and their families experiencing mental health and trauma difficulties. Significant senior practitioner/leadership experience within a CAMHS setting would be an advantage. In all cases, you must be able to demonstrate the clinical, consultation and communication skills needed to offer an outstanding service.
