Job summary
Are you an experienced oncology CNS or a Gynae CNS who wants a new challenge to lead and shape a team in Oncology Gynaecology, then this is the job for you. UHB have an opportunity of a Band 7 Lead Nurse to manage a CNS workforce. In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate seamless specialist service. They will ensure patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. As a nursing expert the post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist's service, providing advice, education and support to staff, patients their families and carers.
Main duties of the job
This list is not exhaustive - please read the full JD. Act as an expert practitioner working autonomously within speciality. Participate in nurse led clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews and MDTs, where the post holder will co-ordinate treatment Undertake and provide treatment. carrying out expert clinical practice within a designated group of patients. Ensure that high quality, current evidence-based nursing care underpins all actions with patients, communicate with patients making reports and liaising with medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team both verbally and in writing. Where there is a requirement undertake training to support and enhance effective communication undertake additional advanced communication skills training. Lead in the active engagement of service users through facilitation of patient, development critical analysis and decision-making skills, ensuring patients receive high quality clinical care Escalate concerns within management as required. Carry out those activities required to conduct and record a comprehensive assessment of a person's nursing requirements. Demonstrate competence to a level associated with underpinning training and education to ensure a comprehensive physical and mental patient assessment is undertaken Undertake a variety of physical observations appropriate to the scope of practice using a range of equipment
