Band 3 Pharmacy Governance Administrator

Job summary

The post holder is a key member of the pharmacy governance team and is expected to ensure that high quality administrative and secretarial support is provided at all times whilst supporting the management team in this area. The successful candidates will need to have gained previous experience of dealing with general secretarial/administration duties to enable them to assist both the Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Governance and the Pharmacy Clinical Governance Operational Lead with the administration of the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing and Patient Group Direction approval processes, as well as supporting the wider pharmacy governance team with audit processes. The position is 37.5 hours per week, although part time may be considered depending on the number of hours. The role is based at the QE site, but duties will include liaising across all Trust sites to support with the above.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a main point of contact for the Trust pharmacy governance team.

The role will include providing general administrative support to the Associate Chief Pharmacist Clinical Governance and the Pharmacy Clinical Governance Operational Lead, alongside the wider pharmacy governance team. The post holder will deal with all relevant queries and complaints whilst ensuring they are responded to in a timely manner.

The post holder will support the approval process for Non-Medical Prescribing within the Trust, as well as manage the documentation approval process for Patient Group Directions. They will also be responsible for administering medication audit processes and maintaining contact databases for this. Additionally, facilitation of and minute taking for the Trust Safe Medication Practice and Medical Gas meetings will be required.

They will be expected to prioritise their own workload and work independently within the pharmacy governance team. The post holder will communicate well with the pharmacy governance team and be a team player.
