In the Cancer Research team we have permanent positions available, so if you are experienced in the oncology fields but have never thought of research as a specialty, OR you are experienced in research and looking for a new challenge, then this could be your opportunity to see if Cancer Research is a new area of practice for you, whilst maintaining your clinical skills.
We also have the exciting opportunity for candidates to work on the new service development dedicated specifically to Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic cancer research
The Oncology research portfolio is one of the largest in the region and has an exciting range of commercial, academic, observational as well as complex interventional studies. The disease areas we cover in the Cancer Research Team include Brain: Lung; Hep Bil; Breast; Urology; Sarcoma; Upper GI: Colorectal: Gynae & others.
The role involves the recruitment, education, support and monitoring of trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data, including the collection and management of blood and tissue samples.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates wishing to develop new skills and their research knowledge as part of a friendly and supportive team.
Main duties of the job

*Registered level 1 Adult Nurse on the NMC register
*Post registration experience working in a complex health care setting / Acute NHS care setting
*Competent in managing the care of a group of patients / shift management and clinical leadership relevant to the practice setting
*Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision to others
*Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/ competence
*Good IT skills / ability to record information electronically
*Positive and enthusiastic attitude
*Ability to communicate articulately
*Previous experience in Research/ Oncology or Inflammatory conditions is desirable, but not exclusionary

- *Professional portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
- *Substantial post registration experience working in a complex health care setting / Acute NHS care setting supervising / mentoring junior staff
- *Evidence of professional /clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical and or managerial training and CPD
- *Relevant and recent clinical experience within the speciality /acute care setting, including the supervision /education of junior staff
