Job summary
Are you looking to play a vital role in the future of medicine? We are looking for a motivated and organised Clinical Trial Assistant to join our world-class Haematology Research Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. In this role, you won't just be handling data; you'll be a key link in the chain of drug discovery. You will work directly with patients and healthy volunteers, assisting our Clinicians, Research Nurses and Trial Coordinators to ensure clinical trials are delivered safely, accurately, and to the highest standards. You will be working with our sponsors coordinating site visits, training and supporting trial monitors for them to be able conduct efficient and effective source data verification.
Who You Are
*Experienced: You have a background in a healthcare environment (ideally within the NHS).
*Organised: You can manage your own workload with minimal supervision and have an eagle eye for detail.
*Communicator: You can explain complex processes clearly to both clinical staff and patients. Effective communication with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.
*Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable navigating various databases and computerised systems to report vital research data in line with our strict data processing policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
*Support Patient Journeys: Assist in recruitment and guide participants through their clinical trial pathway.
*Precision Data & Samples: Be responsible for the meticulous collection and processing of biological samples and trial data. Update appropriate screening and recruitment logs and databases.
*Site Management: Maintain the Investigator Site Files (ISF) and ensure every trial meets strict Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. Archive trials as per Trust Standard Operating Procedures and Sponsor requirements.
*Collaborate Across: Act as a liaison between Research and Innovation Department and trial sponsors and key service departments like Pharmacy, Labs, and Imaging to ensure a seamless trial delivery.
