Job summary

Applications are invited for a CardAIc Clinical Research Fellow supporting Professor Dipak Kotecha to deliver an international project

The post holder will work towards an MD with an 24month fixed term contract and join the cardAIc and DaRe2THINK team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB). The fellow will primarily work on Cities@Heart, a five-year project that brings together universities, health technology companies, professional health organisations and local public health departments to improve cardiovascular health and reduce health inequalities in urban areas. Working with international partners, the fellow will identify health inequalities and pilot technologyenabled interventions across five European cities, assessing their effectiveness and feasibility for longterm implementation. The post-holder will be able to take advantage of integrated working within a broad multidisciplinary team. The cardAIc team includes clinical and data scientists to bring forward new developments in artificial intelligence and clinical trials to improve cardiology research, supported by extensive patient and public involvement.

Main duties of the job

The responsibilities may include some but not all of the responsibilities outlined below.

*Carry out work in line with projects being led by the team, including recruiting patients, collect and analyse research data, conduct systematic reviews and qualitative interviews.

*Apply knowledge in a way which develops new intellectual understanding.

*Disseminate research findings for publication, research seminars etc.

*Undertake management/administration arising from research.

*Contribute to department research-related activities and research-related administration

*Work with the team on patient and public engagement activities and engage with patient community groups.

*Assist in communication with external collaborators and organisation of consensus meeting at end of project.

*Present research outputs, including drafting academic publications or parts thereof, for example at seminars and as posters.

*Provide guidance, as required, to support staff and any students who may be assisting with the research.

*Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
