University Hospitals Birmingham seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Interventional Radiology Consultant with an academic and research interest to join our expanding Interventional Radiology team in a substantive post. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality IR services across UHB, supporting elective, emergency, and on call IR pathways. Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities are to:

Provide expert, consultant-level Interventional Radiology services across vascular and non-vascular specialties.

Participate in the IR on call rota, contributing to 24/7 emergency IR provision.

Deliver high-quality outpatient, inpatient, and day case interventional procedures.

Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues including surgery, oncology, hepatobiliary, trauma, renal, and critical care teams.

Contribute to service development, quality improvement and strategic planning within IR.

Supervise and support registrars, fellows, and advanced practitioners.

Participate in audit, governance and teaching as part of UHBs commitment to excellence.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates who is:

GMC registered doctor (or eligibility)

FRCR or equivalent qualification

CCT in Interventional Radiology and the ability to perform spinal interventional procedures including vertebroplasty and spinal RFA procedures

Strong academic interest with PhD or equivalent qualification

Commitment to high quality clinical care, teamwork, and continuous learning

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills
