Band 3 Service Coordinator - Imaging

Job summary

(12 Month Fixed Term Post)

We are looking for individuals that want to be part of a dynamic team, who can use trust systems, use own initiative, and when booking appointments ensure that patient accessibility needs are met. * Ability to recognise situations that should be referred onto the Supervisor/Line Manager and take prompt and appropriate action. Ensure all letters and any information sent out are clear, accurate and informative. Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries as appropriate

Main duties of the job

To provide a robust and structured booking service to the Imaging Department within the Heartlands and WWH-CDC Hospital Sites, supporting all imaging modalities. To ensure that lists are filled to capacity and fully utilised to aid with meeting trust targets and KPI's. To provide a telephone service for patients managing appointments, recording and updating of information, management or incoming referrals and requests, booking and provision of interpreters, i.e. ambulance transport requirements, appointment letters in bold print medication requirements. Ensure that patients' appointments meet the NHS booking targets, providing all support for smooth patient experiences.

The post holder will be required to work by the trust values and have empathy and a sympathetic approach to patients, family and their carers, whilst managing complex and confidential information. Be responsible for the quality of information Photocopy and distribute documents as required. Follow up any do not attend (DNAs)

Undertake work that has been prioritised by the Supervisor / Line Manager. Identify capacity shortfalls in clinical areas and escalate appropriately. Organise own day-to-day work tasks showing an ability to prioritise to achieve set timescales.

Responsible for managing own modality waiting, planned and urgent lists.
