Job summary
The post holder will support the deployment and implementation of the Advocating for Education and Quality Improvement model (AEQUIP).
Working under the management of the Professional Midwifery Advocate, the post holder will be a visible role model developing, delivering, and embedding Restorative Clinical Supervision (RCS) in collaboration with other Professional Midwifery Advocates and clinical teams. The PMA demonstrates that they can act, link academic learning with their practical settings and experiences and develop their practice skills to support colleagues to improve the capabilities of the midwifery workforce.
Main duties of the job
Work with the other Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) in collaboration with senior team to develop a local strategy for the deployment of AEQUIP and the delivery of RCS within teams.
Link with appropriate multi-professional groups and be a visible presence in the clinical area(s).
Maintain close links, collaborate, and share best practice with other PMAs at local, regional, and national level.
Hold reflective discussions
Discuss any professional issues, including clinical incidents, team dynamics, stress, burnout, career progression, interviews, and quality initiatives, as well as personal issues.
Following a traumatic or stressful event, allow (or create) the opportunity for reflection to reduce stress and enable learning, limit compassion fatigue, and improve confidence.
Portray an understanding of personal and professional resilience, developing this attitude in others.
Escalate concerns to the Lead for Support and Education Midwife.

- *Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
- *Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to masters level equivalent.
