Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Band 6 junior Sister/Charge Nurse in Acute Medicine.

AMU is a 68-bed area, where you will support patient flow from Emergency Department and GP referrals. The area is a busy but rewarding and you will be surrounded by friendly and supportive colleagues that encourage new ideas, innovation and personal development.

We are seeking a confident committed clinical leader who is driven by challenges and can demonstrate personal resilience when working in a fast-moving environment. You should have experience of staff and change management and leading by example.

You will possess substantial and recent Medicine experience as a Band 6 and demonstrate a passion for Medicine. The successful applicant will be expected to function effectively under pressure ensuring safe patient flow, without compromising essential standards of care and professionalism. You will need to be a creative thinker, problem-solver and Team player and lead a Team effectively and influence clinical standards of care.

In return, we will support you with an innovative individualized programme of on-going professional and career development, working with the senior sisters in achieving your personal development plan.

The post holder will be expected to work days, night and weekends 37.5 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 years experience.
