Job summary
This is an Apprenticeship role where you'll learn handson technical skills that support real healthcare training. You'll be working towards the Hampshire Hospitals Level 3 Apprenticeship in SimulationBased Education, a national 24month programme delivered remotely. It includes specialist modules to help you build technical confidence and understand the unique world of healthcare simulation. Completing the apprenticeship also gives you the opportunity to apply for professional registration as a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech).

We strongly encourage candidates to visit our simulation centre before applying so you can see the role in action. After a short probation period, successful candidates will be enrolled onto the two year apprenticeship.
On completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship, post holders will be able to apply for a role as a Band 4 Senior Technician.
Main duties of the job
In this apprenticeship, you'll support the daily running of our busy Clinical Skills and Simulation Centres across our four hospital sites. You'll help set up training rooms, prepare equipment, and assist with the technology used to run realistic medical simulations. This includes learning how to handle manikins, audiovisual equipment, computers and other technical kit. Each day you'll work closely with our technical team, helping to make sure sessions start smoothly and equipment works as it should.
You'll learn how to troubleshoot simple issues, keep spaces tidy and safe, check stock levels and help move equipment between sites. As you grow in confidence, you'll take on more responsibility and work more independently.
We're looking for someone who is curious, practical and enjoys solving problems. You'll need good communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to stay organised when things get busy. This is a great role if you enjoy handson work, like technology and want to start a career in a unique area of healthcare.
