Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 2 Clinical Support Worker (CSW) to join our dynamic team. This role involves working across multiple sites to support the delivery of high-quality sexual health patient care, education and support, so you must be able to be flexible in your working day. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services, from direct patient care to maintaining the clinical environment. Comprehensive training will be provided to all successful applicants. You will need to be empathetic and have good people skills and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring good communication while always maintaining confidentiality, both within work and outside.
After completion of relevant competencies, the successful candidate will progress to a Band 3.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to chaperone patients attending clinics, ensuring that they always maintain patient privacy and dignity and provide reassurance and empathy to patients who may feel vulnerable whilst undergoing invasive procedures. You will act as a patient advocate supporting patients and appreciating potential embarrassment and concerns. You will assist with collecting samples and ensuring that the correct processes are undertaken to ensure that they are delivered to the laboratories promptly and efficiently. You will be trained in venepuncture (taking blood) and other patient tests appropriate to your role. Other responsibilities will include stock rotation and management, clean equipment and ensuring a clean and tidy clinic is maintained.
