Job summary

Location: Queen Elizabeth Hospital- Multiple job role available across medicine, surgery and tertiary services

Hours: [full time 37.5hrs or minimum of 30hrs]- please be aware we will not consider candidates who cannot commit to 30 hours weekly

Salary: [Band 2 progressing to Band 3 on completion of Competencies]

What you'll be doing

*Providing high-quality, person centred care to patients

*Assisting with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility

*Supporting clinical staff with observations and essential care tasks

*Maintaining a safe, clean, and dignified environment

*Offering emotional support and ensuring patients feel heard and valued

*Ability to stay calm under pressure

*Previous care experience is desirable but not essential -- full training will be provided

Qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of Maths/English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
  • Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Level 2 examples: GCSE Grades 9-4 (A-C) Level 2 Diploma in health care support / NVQ, Functional Skills Level 2
  • Internationally educated applicants will have to evidence UK ENIC (the UK National Information Centre) Statements of compatibility

Desirable

  • *Care Certificate or can demonstrate prior skills, knowledge and experience that meet the 15 minimum standards described by Health Education England (HEE) Skills for Health

Experience

Essential

  • *Experience of working / participating as part of a team as an employee / volunteer.
  • *Ability to demonstrate/ articulate an understanding of the role and tasks involved and can describe the physical and emotional aspects of the role and some duties
  • *Can link the Trust values (Kind, Bold, Connected) to the role and provide examples from personal experience which demonstrate understanding in relation to the role
  • *Can explain why training / education and approaches to care need to be consistent in relation to safety and patient experience

Desirable

  • *Has experience of working in a person centred/ facing role in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • *Understanding of the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role
