Job summary
This role is based in the Specialist Assessment Service, within a multi-disciplinary team, including Clinical Psychologists, Education Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. You will work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, to support children, young people and their families through the process of an Autism assessment. The role may include gathering information, supporting clinicians with assessments and carrying out administrative tasks.
The role is mostly based at Chelmsley Wood Primary Care Centre but is likely to include some work taking place in local schools or nurseries.

Main duties of the job
Works under the clinical supervision and management of a qualified and suitably experienced professional psychologist, to support specialist evidence-based assessments for young people & their families as part of the Autism assessment pathway, including assisting with clinically related administration and diagnostic assessments.
Works independently on a day-to-day basis according to a plan and objectives agreed and reviewed at intervals with the qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of relevant team/service area policies and procedures.
Works jointly with colleagues from other services and agencies.
Supports qualified psychologists in the delivery of clinical services in relation to the presentation of autism, e.g. completion of cognitive assessments and other standardised assessments. The work will be supervised by a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
Supports qualified psychologists in governance, audit, research and clinical administrative activities, collecting, collating and analysing data, writing and presenting reports and assisting in project development under the guidance of the psychologist as required. Uses IT equipment and software as required, including statistical, database, spreadsheet and presentational.
Assists qualified psychologists in the planning and organisation of teaching/training programmes and undertakes/contributes to teaching and training activities as required.

- * Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.

- * Experience, voluntary or paid, in working with children and young people.
