Job summary
We are excited to announce that we are looking for an experienced Band 4 Medical Secretary to work in the Gastroenterology department at Good Hope Hospital for 30 hours a week. You will be working with an established team of medical secretaries.
You will need to be keen and enthusiastic, if this is you.... then you won't regret applying for this role and becoming part of the gastroenterology team. We require someone who is hardworking, methodical, good at audio typing, good communication skills, approachable and friendly and will work alongside an already established team of medical secretaries.

Main duties of the job
The role itself consists of audio typing of clinics, this is done via dragon dictation system. So you will need to be an excellent audio typist. Other duties consist of diary management, clinic cancellations and setting up of extra clinics. Monitoring results and providing the consultants with weekly results lists to report on. Looking at rotas and reorganising clinics due to ward weeks, on call, annual and study leave. Good communication skills are needed as the phones are very busy. You will be part of a team where you will be required to cover other secretaries phones when on leave, this is done with a buddy system.
