An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our paediatric admin team as an Urgent Paediatric Advice & Guidance (UPAGS) coordinator. This role involves taking urgent telephone referrals from GP's, community midwives and other external clinical providers. You will be logging patient demographic information on our internal trust system and transferring calls to our paediatric clinical consultants. It is essential you have an excellent telephone manner along with good communication skills. This role at times can be extremely busy therefore the ability to work under pressure would be beneficial.
The role will also involve supporting our paediatric secretaries with general administration duties such as scanning of external documents, booking patient appointments, monitoring clinical capacity, receiving incoming post and taking action and other duties mentioned in the job description.
Experience in working in healthcare would be advantageous along with good organisational skills, ability to multi-task, working on your own initiative and being able to work in a team.
This role is Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm for 37.5hrs per week. These hours are non-negotiable. There may be opportunity for homeworking. For more information, please contact Helen Alder.
Main duties of the job
*Providing an efficient and professional administrative service
*Undertake data input, accurately inputting data using a variety of Trust IT systems in a timely way
*Communicating with patients, staff and coordinating appointments
*Answering the telephone and taking messages, deal with them in a timely and efficient way and refer as appropriate
*Receive and open incoming post and take action as required
*Review and action electronic correspondence and disseminate as appropriate
*General admin duties as mentioned in the job description.
