Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Governance and Patient Safety Department at University Hospitals Birmingham as one of the Governance Facilitation Leads.
Working under the direction of the Clinical Risk Lead and Head of Clinical Governance & Patient Safety, the post holder will be required to coordinate the Trust's clinical quality governance and risk management function for the Trust. Working alongside the Hospital Leadership Team, you will be involved in the day-to-day delivery and development of the governance programme across Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, alongside another Governance Facilitation Lead, to ensure that the clinical quality governance and risk management agenda is proactively managed and consistently delivered.

The role will require an ability to create strong working relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues at all levels within the Hospital site and the wider organisation, as well as an ability to frequently present to a wide and varied audience.
Main duties of the job
To lead the implementation of a range of Trust-wide clinical governance initiatives and programmes to support the strategic development of the Trust's clinical governance, safety and compliance agenda, including continuous development in line with the changing national agenda.
To ensure that all Hospital, Clinical Delivery Groups and Specialties have appropriate clinical governance frameworks and clinical quality improvement programmes in place.
Provide leadership and day to day line management and development of their Governance Facilitation Team.
Undertake analysis of complex information (qualitative, quantitative and statistical information) to inform and measure the effectiveness of projects and work streams.
To develop and oversee the implementation of action plans to deliver improvements to internal governance systems and processes and to escalate challenges to delivery to the senior management team.
To lead the development and implementation of comprehensive clinical governance training programmes across the Trust which includes providing specialist training for clinical and non-clinical staff.
To participate in the preparation for any external regulatory visit by CQC as required.
Attend relevant committee and management meetings across the Trust as required.
Actively contribute to the senior management team within the Clinical Governance & Patient Safety team, setting standards of practice, behaviour and leadership.
