Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham manages The South Birmingham Breast Screening Programme and provides Breast Symptomatic Services across Birmingham and Solihull.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant practitioner- Mammographer to join our friendly multi-disciplinary Breast Imaging Team. Duties will be undertaken at South Birmingham Breast Screening Unit and the associated mobile screening unit according to NHSBSP guidelines and South Birmingham Breast Unit QMS operating procedures.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will perform basic mammography examinations in accordance with local protocols and provide support to the breast services team for both breast screening and symptomatic services. This will include clinical duties under the indirect supervision of specialist radiographic staff. In addition, the post holder will be expected to support in interventional procedures in both X-ray and Ultrasound rooms. Participation in non-clinical roles such as stock control etc. Please see attached Job description for further information.
