Job summary

At UHB our vision is to Build Healthier lives. Our purpose is to improve the health of the people and communities through delivering the best patient care in line with our values of being Kind, Connected and Bold.

2026 is the year of Leadership at UHB and we are proud to invest and recognise the importance and value of the therapies services across our four hospitals.

Our communities are rich in diversity and present with a range of complex nutritional needs- to that end we are thrilled to announce this opportunity for candidates with specialist interest in critical care.

You will work as a member of the Therapies Respiratory cluster and Gastroenterology and Nutrition Support team providing dietetic support for critical care services across Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals, working alongside a variety of multidisciplinary teams including intensive care, gastroenterology and surgery.

You will share the team's passion in improving care, quality and the overall experience whilst making a difference to the people who access our services. In return, you can expect to join like-minded people who deliver unequivocal excellence in all aspects of their role and who want to make a difference to the communities we live and work in.

As one of the largest foundation Trusts we can provide more challenge and more opportunities to ensure your career is always moving in the right direction.

Main duties of the job

This role offers the opportunity to manage a complex, highly specialist caseload within the critical care setting, delivering high-quality, evidence-based nutritional care to critically ill patients in the ICU and across wider acute areas. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical knowledge of parenteral nutrition and complex enteral feeding, and will contribute to the ongoing development of both the critical care and broader dietetic service. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician to deepen their expertise in a supportive and progressive environment.

You will be joining a well-established, forward-thinking dietetics department that values continuous professional development and collaborative working. The role provides access to a range of opportunities including structured involvement in clinical governance, student education, and quality improvement projects. If you are a knowledgeable and driven clinician who thrives in a busy multidisciplinary setting and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred nutritional care, we encourage your application.
