Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified radiographer to join the Imaging Leadership Team as a Band 7 Clinical Team Leader in Digital Radiography. The post holder will provide clinical, operational, and professional leadership within their designated area, with a primary focus on Emergency Department and Inpatient Imaging, while supporting cross-cover across other imaging areas as required.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management, organisation, supervision, and development of staff within the Digital Radiography service. Working collaboratively with other Clinical Team Leaders and the Imaging Team Leader, the post holder will ensure the delivery of a safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging service that promotes best practice and an excellent patient experience.

Support and training will be provided to support transition into leadership for suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership and Service Delivery

*Provide professional and clinical leadership for the Digital Radiography service within the designated area

*Maintain a high standard of clinical practice, acting as a role model for staff and ensuring best practice is followed at all times

*Promote a positive patient experience through safe, effective, and compassionate care

*Ensure compliance with local, Trust, and national policies and professional standards

Operational Management

*Manage the day-to-day organisation of workload and staffing within the Digital Radiography service

*Ensure operational standards are met to support effective, efficient, and progressive service delivery

*Work closely with other Clinical Team Leaders and the Imaging Team Leader to ensure appropriate staffing levels and service resilience

*Support cross-cover arrangements across imaging areas in line with service requirements

Staff Management, Training and Development

*Lead the supervision, appraisal, and ongoing development of radiography staff

*Identify training needs and support staff development, including newly qualified and junior radiographers

*Support education and training initiatives in collaboration with clinical tutors and external education providers

  • *General science-based education to GCSE and A level with a minimum of 1 science-based A level or equivalent.
  • *D.C.R. (R) or BSc Radiography
  • *HCPC Registered

Desirable

  • *Post Graduate qualification / Master's degree and/or relevant experience

Experience

  • *Broad range of radiographic experience at a senior level
  • *Experience of managing a staff group at a senior level
  • *Evidence of role extension
  • *Comprehensive understanding of the requirements of IR (ME) R 2017 and associated legislation

Desirable

  • *Some experience of budgetary management
  • *An understanding of the principles of the development and modernisation of the NHS, particularly in relation to imaging and the education of the healthcare workforce
