Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of Pharmacy Technicians who provide a range of pharmaceutical services at Solihull Hospital. During this role you will work within the main dispensary and the chemotherapy satellite.

In this role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will commence in the role at band 4 with there being opportunity to develop into band 5 role in the future.

You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply, however applications from candidates due to qualify & register this year will be considered.

Main duties of the job

Job Description

* Provide a timely and accurate supply of medicinal treatment to patients

* Provide counselling to patients on how to take their medication and supply information as requested to improve patient's understanding of their treatment.

* To perform a final accuracy check on dispensed items against prescriptions and controlled drug requisitions. To participate in the induction and training of staff

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

* Be educated to secondary school level and hold GSCE or equivalent (pass level C or above) in Math's and English

* A nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

* An accredited accuracy checking qualification is desirable.

Experience

* Experience working in a pharmacy environment post qualification, Ability and Knowledge

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Able to identify customer needs and deliver services to the required level

* Be able to keep accurate records

* Works to set procedures

Knowledge

*Have accurate dispensing skills with a good knowledge of pharmaceutical names with an pharmacy environment
