Job summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Warehouse and Logistics team. This is a rare opportunity in a competitive market, where your expertise will directly safeguard the safe and secure handling of medicines across the Trust. In 2025, our Year of Leadership, this role is central to strengthening governance, resilience and innovation. You will act as the named Responsible Person for Wholesale Dealer Authorisations, ensuring compliance with EU Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and supporting the Chief Pharmacist and senior logistics leaders.
Main duties of the job
*Lead and maintain the Trust's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with GDP.
*Act as Responsible Person for WDA licences, overseeing suppliers, subcontractors and risk assessments.
*Manage recall procedures for medicines and devices, ensuring timely and effective responses.
*Provide professional advice on legislation, licensing and quality standards to senior leaders.
*Oversee audits, inspections and CAPA processes, monitoring performance indicators.
*Ensure facilities, equipment and storage meet statutory standards, including validated temperature monitoring and secure segregation of hazardous products.
*Contribute to departmental planning, reporting and governance, including NHS Resolution and MHRA & CQC standards.

Essential
- Good Standard of General Education to GCSE or equivalent level
- Master's in pharmacy or equivalent in-depth experience,
- Qualified Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist or relevant equivalent experience in Pharmaceutical Science
- Registration with GPhC or Royal society of Biology Chemistry or Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Post-graduate Masters Management Qualification or equivalent in-depth experience
- Evidence of CPD
- Suitable experience with the pharmaceutical distribution field and knowledge as outlined below to be eligible for Responsible Person status on a Wholesale Dealer Authorisation
Desirable
- HND qualification and/or relevant experience
- Degree level or equivalent qualifications
- Trained as an internal/External auditor
- Responsible Person Training (Cogent recognised)

- *Extensive good Distribution Practice of Medicinal products for Human use experience and operations of a licence holder.
- *Knowledge of medicines safety, governance and procurement/warehousing/safe storage and distribution/inventory
- *Knowledge of professional procurement principles and supply chain management acquired through qualification or relevant equivalent experience
- *Knowledge of categories of persons to whom product may be distributed.
- *Experience in managing Quality Management systems (QMS), Root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- *Experience in the management of teams
- *Experience in managing budgets/risk assessments/health and safety
- *Experience in liaising with senior stakeholders
- *Commercial awareness
