Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians to help delivery a high quality , patinet focused , clinical pharmacy service across the this busy acute hospital Trust.
In this progressive role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will first commence in the role at band 4, and then upon completion of an individualised development plan you will progress to your role as Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Band 5.
You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply, however applications from candidates due to qualify & register this year will be considered. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential as you will be well-supported in training and developing into this role.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be working on wards carrying out a comprehensive medicines management service which will encompass assessment of patient's own medicines, medicines reconciliation, and counselling for discharge. In addition, the ward based teams are heavily involved in the governance of medicines through our regular cycle of audits.
*Support the pharmacy dept in the provisions of complete pharmaceutical care to patients
*Deliver a high-quality ward-based medicine optimisation service to a multitude of area throughout the Trust
*Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members
*Support the in-patient pharmacy where required
*Carry out accuracy checking commitments
*A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the GPHC
*Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with at least one year's post qualification experience in a hospital setting
*A national recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification
*A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others
*A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service
*A strong attention to detail
*Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity is desirable
This post offers in service development training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in a clinical role
A requirement to participate in evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis will be necessary
