Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has presented for an enthusiastic and committed individual to gain specialised skills in a senior role. We are looking for a motivated pharmacy technician to join our diverse team to support cancer services.

As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with the clinical pharmacy team to bridge the gap between pharmacy and clinical area(s). You will build key relationships with the multidisciplinary team, acting as a key communication link.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

With a patient-focused approach, you will.

*Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients

*Oversee the daily operation in cancer services, working towards achieving daily key performance indicators

*Provide supervision for training, health and safety and stock management

*Act as a role model and be responsible for the maintenance of waste management, reduction of expired medication and stock losses and controlled drug regulations

*Carry out accuracy checking commitments

Key Person Specification Requirements

*A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

*Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician in a hospital setting

*A nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification

*A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others

*The ability to remain calm under pressure

*A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service

*A strong attention to detail

*Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity is desirable

This post offers in-service development training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in a clinical role. A requirement to participate in evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis will be necessary.
