Job summary
The Imaging Department is seeking applications for experienced, skilled Radiographers to work within CT and MRI performing diagnostic imaging for both inpatients and outpatients.
Imaging within Good Hope Hospital is a friendly, dynamic, busy department with a good skill mix of staff.
There is support by CT Team Leads at Band 7 level and on-site management team.
The successful candidate will have evidence of experience in one or both Modalities and will already be working as a Band 6 Radiographer within the NHS.
There is a comprehensive induction programme and full orientation into both Modalities will be arranged.
Further development is encouraged and there is an active Practice and Education team to support the Clinical radiographers.
There is an ongoing equipment update and replacement programme with installation of a replacement CT scanner projected for late Spring 2026.
The candidate must have evidence of ongoing professional development and be committed to lifelong learning.
Face to face interviews are to be conducted in order to ensure the successful candidate is a good fit for the team and to establish that the candidate aligns with the Trust's values.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work in the CT and MRI departments providing a high-quality diagnostic Imaging service to patients in an acute and outpatient setting.
The role involves supporting and giving advice to Radiographers whilst working closely with the Lead site CT and MRI specialist radiographers and Modality and Site lead Radiographers.
The post holder will undertake an active role in Radiology service improvement and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a designated CT or MRI scanning area.
There is a need to demonstrate competence in all aspects of cross-sectional radiography.
The role will involve intravenous cannulation for injections and point of care testing.
Working on a rotational basis in the CT and MRI department there will be a requirement to participate in the 24-hour service, working shift patterns.
An important aspect of the role is maintaining associated medical imaging records, both paper based and in computerised systems with participation in audit and research as required.
The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and teaching of Radiographers, Radiology assistants, support staff and student Radiographers.
Statutory and mandatory training together with continued professional development must be demonstrated and kept up to date.
