Job summary
Patient Catering:
Shift pattern runs Monday to Sunday 365 days per year.
Shifts comprise of a mixture of 10:30am-14:30pm and 15:30-19:30pm, applicants need to be available for these times across the working week.
The work involves preparation, handling and serving of foods across all areas of the Catering department and associated hospital sites. The post holder will require maintaining good food hygiene standards for patients, staff and visitors to the Trust in accordance with individual sites processes.
Good housekeeping and cleaning practices are maintained to a professional standard promoting a professional image to patients and visitors promoting the Trust vision and values.
Use of industrial and light equipment and machinery is required within ward services, retail, stores and central production units.
Main duties of the job
Patient Catering (Substantive or UHB+)
*Communicate menus and offer to patient and ward teams
*Identify and report faults as required to department supervisors or leads
*Provide high quality food and beverage service to all patients following department process
*Maintain excellent cleaning standards within the working area following cleaning schedules supplied
Retail & Hospitality (Substantive or UHB+)
*Provide high quality retail and beverage service to all customers using the Trust facilities and hospitality services
*Communicate menus and promotions to customers internal and external, providing good customer service for Retail and Hospitality
*Identify and report faults as required to department supervisors or leads
*Use POS tills for payment transactions, and follow departments cash handling process and procedures
*Maintain excellent cleaning standards within the working area following cleaning schedules supplied
Production CPU/Stores/Menu Mark (Substantive or UHB+)
*Use generic IT software for stock recording and printing (as per individual training)
*Complete basic IT admin duties using Menu-Mark System for Menu Card collation (as per individual training)
*Identify and report faults as required to department supervisors or leads
