Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Interventional and Neuro Radiology teams at QEHB. This specialist role provides expert nursing care to patients undergoing complex procedures, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering clinics, pre-assessment, procedure, and post-procedure pathways.

The successful candidate will act as a key patient contact, the role is in a highly specialised Interventional Radiology Department, incorporating both Body and Neuro Interventions delivering education, reassurance, and continuity of care, while contributing to service development, audit, and quality improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialised and innovative area of radiology.

Main duties of the job

Role expectation, this list is not exhaustive:

*Registered Nurse with relevant experience in interventional, neuro, or acute care nursing.

*Ability to work autonomously, make clinical decisions, and manage complex patient pathways.

*Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

*Attend MDT's with Interventional Consultants

*Attend and undertake independent sub-speciality clinics

*Provide continuity of care for patients between referring speciality and radiology

*Contribute to and maintain patient information and communication

*Be the point of call for patients and consultation liaison

*Management of sub-speciality waiting lists

*Liaison with the wider interventional multi-disciplinary team

  • *Registered Adult / Child Nurse on the NMC Register (Field dependent upon role)
  • *Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in (appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7
  • *Recognised mentorship course

Desirable

  • *To have or working towards a MSc/ Masters qualification
