Band 5 Staff Nurse (Research)

The closing date is 04 January 2026

Job summary

Are you looking to use your skills in an evolving and exciting area of practice?

Would you like to learn more about clinical research and how it impacts on patient care now and in the future?

The Cardiology Research team is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join us.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse with an interest and / or experience in Cardiology to join our team.

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve supporting a varied range of research studies and clinical trials, being involved in all stages of the research process. This entails the recruitment of participants, facilitation of the consent process, administration of the clinical intervention that is required for the trial (if applicable), coordinating follow up visits as well as liaising with drug companies and other study sponsors. You will need to ensure the accurate collection and submission of data, in line with the study protocols and research regulations.

You will hopefully have some experience of supporting patients with cardiac conditions plus awareness of 'Good Clinical Practice' (GCP) guidelines, however full training and a competency framework will be available to support your transition into this role.

You will have good interpersonal skills, an eye for detail, and be structured in your approach. Although being part of a small team you will be expected to work on your own initiative at times.
