Band 3 Ward Service Coordinator-W24 - Respiaratory

Job summary

Ward 24 at Heartlands Hospital is looking to recruit a Band 3 Ward service co-ordinator to join their busy 43 bedded respiratory ward.

The post holder will work closely with the domestic and nursing team to ensure that the ward is kept clean and tidy at all times.

Duties will include:

*Cleanliness of the ward and storage areas

*Assisting with the nutritional needs of the patients serving food and beverages

*Maintenance of the environment

*Customer service

The post holder must have good communication skills, ability to organise their own workload and work well within a team.

Working 37.5 hours a week, shifts pattern will be 7am-3pm or 10am-6pm and weekend work is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as an integral part of the team.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services on the wards, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

The main elements of the role are ensuring that the ward and storage areas are kept clean, assisting with the nutritional needs of the patients serving food and beverages, maintenance of the environment, stock control, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the nurse in charge.

The post holder will work closely with the domestic and nursing team to ensure that the Ward is kept clean, tidy and well stocked at all times.

The post holder will have direct contact with members of the public, so will require excellent communication skills.

  • * Evidence of Level 2 on both Maths & English qualifications ( CSE Grade 1/ GCSE Grades 4-9 or A* -C / Level 2 Functional Skills / O Level grade A-C / Level 2 National Certificate / Level 2 National Diploma / Level 2 ESOL )
  • * Evidence of completion of Level 3 Qualification or above in Health / Social Care or Hospitality & Catering ( BTEC/CACHE Level 3 Award / Level 3 Certificate or Diploma ) or 2 A levels or equivalent experience of working in the NHS in a patient/public facing role in health / care or hospitality & catering
  • * Evidence of completion of training associated with employment in a role associated with health / care / hospitality or catering i.e. : Customers service/ Food Hygiene / Care Certificate/ Health & Safety i.e. COSHH
  • * Evidence of completion of "in house" training associated with employment, via on-line training platforms, Moodle, in house training etc.
