Job summary

The important role provides support the Chief Pharmacist and Head of Radiopharmacy to ensure the radio-pharmacy service meets its quality, activity, and financial targets. The post holder will support the technical team in implementing and complying with quality systems and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) within the radio-pharmacy aseptic facility and to supervise personnel undertaking QA activities.

Main duties of the job

Work with other Trust pharmacy aseptic sites to co-ordinate consistent approaches to Quality assurance

Providing specialist advice on QA procedures and equipment

Advise on deviations which impact product quality and safety

Participate in QC testing of products

Monitor, interpret and trend environmental monitoring results

Participating in some aspects of the Production rota

Support preparation for inspections from regulatory agencies, for example, the MHRA

Assess and analyse stability data

Co-ordinate departmental and operator validations

  • Must have the following:
  • * Knowledge of pharmaceutical service procedures obtained through NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science plus theoretical study and practical experience of managing staff, resources and additional knowledge to degree or equivalent level
  • Or
  • * Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist training (complete)
  • And
  • * Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council or Science Council or an appropriate professional body e.g. RSC or RSB or HCPC.
  • * Mandatory CPD to assess fitness to practice
  • * Dispensing Accuracy Accreditation or willing to complete
  • * Accredited Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician or willing to complete
  • * Pre and In-Process Checking course or willing to complete
  • * Product Approval Accreditation Programme or willing to complete

Desirable

  • Education Qualifications
