They will develop advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to identify, manage, and initiate early interventions for acutely or critically ill and deteriorating patients. Working within their defined scope of competence, the post holder will progressively acquire and apply specialist clinical skills under appropriate supervision.
The post holder will actively engage in a structured training and development programme to achieve advanced clinical competencies, enabling them to formulate and implement care plans for acutely and critically ill patients. They will also support the development of clinical skills and promote learning opportunities for staff across all professional grades within the Trust.
As required, the post holder will participate in the management of Level 2 and 3 patients outside of Critical Care Units, working closely with the multidisciplinary Critical Care team. They will coordinate the safe transfer of patients to appropriate care areas--both within the organisation and externally--once suitable beds are available. The post holder may also be required to work within Critical Care Units across all Trust sites.
