Band 6 Senior Dietitian - Stroke & HCOP

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Senior Band 6 Dietitian post within the stroke and older people dietetic team based on Heartlands Hospital site, with some cross cover to Good Hope site, we have a large, well-established and specialist dietetic service. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian who would be interested in developing your dietetic expertise and joining a friendly and dedicated stroke and older people dietetic team, then this is the job for you!

This role will involve working closely with Band 7 Dietetic Team Leads, to provide specialist dietetic care to a varied patient caseload of inpatients, with specialist input to the stroke and older people services. This band 6 Dietitian role would be involved in providing support and training and developing the Band 4 support worker roles. The stroke and older people dietetic team are integral to the speciality multi-disciplinary teams. You will be expected to build collaborative working relationships with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues in the speciality.

Main duties of the job

*Provide a professional nutrition and dietetic service to specified wards and clinics within the Trust

*Line manage other junior team members

*Work closely with the dietetic leads/specialist Dietitians at UHB to continue to develop the dietetic service

*Contribute to the training of student dietitians on clinical placements

*To promote the Dietetic profession both within the Trust and to prospective dietetic students

*Be a key member of the multidisciplinary team

The post is based cross site covering Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospital, however as the Trust is a multi-site organisation you may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and you may need to change your normal place of work, either temporarily or on a permanent basis, as a result of development or reorganisation of Trust services.

  • *Dietitian with qualification in Nutrition & Dietetics (BSc, PG diploma or MSc)
  • *Registration as Dietitian with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • *Good level of written or spoken English
  • *Evidence of CPD

Desirable

  • *Member of British Dietetic Association (BDA)
  • *Member of relevant specialist interest groups (BDA or other)

Experience

  • *Post-graduate experience relevant to post
  • *Experience of working as part of multidisciplinary team and Dietetic team.
