Job summary
This key role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the Paediatric Orthopaedic Developmental Dysplasia of Hip (DDH) service across University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB). The successful candidate will be responsible for the autonomous provision of expert clinical care in this specialty, serving as a role model for advanced practice and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
You will play a pivotal role in establishing and operating a West Midlands-wide DDH service, facilitating coordination and delivery. With direct access to diagnostic procedures, you will ensure timely and appropriate referrals to consultants. By working alongside Consultants, GPs, Commissioners, and other stakeholders, you will develop and refine care pathways that enhance patient outcomes and drive evidence-based practice.

Main duties of the job
The role also includes leading the development of the CTEV/Ponseti and serial casting services, driving service improvements, and supporting national targets for Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) screening. You will provide expert advice to clinical staff, support professional development, and share best practices across teams.

- Registered with HCPC as a Physiotherapist.
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in specialist area
- Completion of GRAF method hip dysplasia training
