Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to join the Gastroenterology Medicine team at Good Hope Hospital.
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust serves the largest populations in the UK and is comprised of four hospitals namely the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital.
This post represents a new and exciting opportunity for a full-time JSD Higher to join the department of Gastroenterology at Good Hope Hospital for 12 months, with potential to extend to 24 months subject to satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will be expected to provide supervisory and leadership responsibilities to other medical doctors working within Gastroenterology at Good Hope. Good communication and participant interview skills are vital.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties include Gastro Ward cover and General Internal Medicine (GIM) on call to include managing and reviewing Inpatient referrals, this is inclusive of nights and weekends. The candidate will be expected to provide weekly outpatient clinics under the supervision of a Gastroenterology consultant and have active involvement and participation in Endoscopy sessions at Good Hope Hospital; it would be desirable if the candidate has experience with carrying out independent OGD Endoscopy lists.
The post-holder will be required to lead and participate with audits to support the Gastroenterology service on request of the Clinical Service Lead and Governance Lead.
