Job summary
We are recruiting for a permanent Clinic Clerk to join our admin team at the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit at Heartlands Hospital for 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
The role requires the ability to prioritise, to work flexibly and independently as well as a keen eye for detail and a willingness to help. Your duties will include accurate record keeping via the Hospital Information Support System, Oceano and the Pathway Management System. You will be responsible for the filing & maintenance of patient case notes, as well as booking or amending future appointments according to the patients care plan.
Working on the front desk you will answer telephone enquiries and book in both elective and emergency patients many of whom are attending with sensitive issues, therefore you will need to be compassionate and empathetic as well as be able to show discretion.
You will join a fantastic existing team who between them cover the unit from 7am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 4pm on a Saturday and Sunday to include bank holidays and Christmas. Shifts will be based on a rota, and full time/part time or flexible working will be considered -- please state this on your application and/or it can be discussed at interview. This position is to be mainly based at Good Hope hospital but you may be required to work at Heartlands Hospital should the need of the service arise to ensure there is adequate cover due to the emergency nature of clinics across sites.
