Job summary

We have the opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic nurse who is required to ensure all patients receive excellent clinical care within Umbrella.

Umbrella delivers a wide range of sexual health services across Birmingham and Solihull providing sexually transmitted infection testing/treatment and contraception services.

Umbrella prides itself on working with a uniquely comprehensive partnership of local service providers, including community pharmacists, general practitioners, third sector and other partners, NHS Trusts and Birmingham City Council Services.

This post is an exciting role for a registered nurse level 1. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently delivering care to the residents of Birmingham and Solihull via assessing and treatment of patients. Previous experience in sexual health is essential.

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, which would involve working late shifts, weekends and also to work at satellite services on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

This will be a great opportunity for the successful candidate to deliver care to patients independently in an Umbrella clinic.

Undertaking patient histories.

Performing patient examinations

Supplying treatments and prescribing medications under PGDs.

Carry out nurse in charge duties.

Train new and existing staff as well as external visitors and junior members of the team.

There will also be an opportunity to receive training in the delivery of long-Acting Reversible contraceptives.

Liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team.

You will also be responsible for undertaking appraisals for junior staff.
