Band 3 Theatre Support Worker

Job summary

Theatre support assistant to work in community-based day case foot surgery unit, which operates theatre sessions two days a week, with the remaining days composed of clinical work.

Main duties of the job

Direct patient care -- including dressing clinics/pre-operative assessment clinics, including basic observations and vascular assessments. Assisting on the ward with admitting, recovering & discharging patients during the perioperative period. In theatre, roles include circulating and monitoring of the patient, including the WHO checklist and observations including NEWS2 with appropriate escalation as required.

Stock replenishment -- in clinical areas.

Ordering of general stock plus surgical equipment & consumables to ensure that all essential equipment is available for each operative case.
