Band 7 Senior Podiatrist

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Podiatrist to join our Acute Hospital Podiatry Service within University Hospitals Birmingham.

As a large acute hospital, we see a varied and unique mix of patients from across all medical and surgical specialties with complex foot and lower limb conditions requiring podiatric care including high risk nail surgery and MSK.

The post holder will be expected to deliver specialist foot care across inpatient and outpatient settings, escalate acute/complex patients to the multidisciplinary foot team and facilitate the transfer of care to community services as required.

This post provides opportunities within research and audit, and to support the departmental provision of education and training to staff working across all sectors of healthcare.

You will be an excellent communicator, able to work autonomously, organised and confident.

This post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital; however employees will be expected to move across sites as required, delivering care based on organisational and service need.

  • *HCPC Registration
  • *Local anaesthetic certificate

  • *Demonstrates comprehensive clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with diabetes related foot problems.
